“I have been practicing my yoga at Mind Body and Soul with Vicki and Grant for nearly a year now having moved to Dunblane in March last year. I knew nobody and MBS took me into their family and made me very welcome. I have now got lots of yoga friends and we have a great time in our practice. The classes are very inclusive, we succeed together, we struggle together, we laugh and groan together. Everyone is encouraged to do what they can, no pressure to achieve the perfect yoga shape. If I have had a hard day the class always lifts me. I can’t imagine not having MBS in my life now. And in the tradition of our class here is a loud NAMASTE"

Claire Hardie

"I first started my yoga journey in 2019 with Vicki in Scone and I have recently started classes again. I am partially deaf, and my balance is not great, however Vicki has always accommodated for me and made sure that if I have missed anything she will let me know. Until covid hit, I had really started to notice a massive difference in my balance and posture and as an insomniac, I also started to get an amazing nights sleep.

During covid, I was so grateful that Vicki and Grant set up online classes, and being a key worker sometimes this was my only contact with people outside of work and although doing yoga from an iPad with a curious cat was challenging, it really provided me with a sense of belonging and inclusivity and the opportunity for some much needed exercise.

After a lot of recent weight gain, I really lack confidence and walking into a class on my own is my worst nightmare! However since I have returned to classes I have never had to worry about feeling self conscious and it has given me the confidence to join other fitness classes. I am a full member and I have found the online classes a fantastic way to fit yoga in around classes. It is now something that I have incorporated into my daily routine, and I am already noticing the benefits again. I love that the routines are varied so it doesn’t become boring and each routine is a full body workout.

Grant has been fantastic in helping with the IT side of things and I am now able to use my TV to stream instead of the iPad which has been massively helpful. I love the fact that the whole family gets involved and you feel part of something even if only attending a weekly class. The Facebook and member message forum is a lovely way of bringing us “shy” ones together and making us all feel welcome.

So a massive thank you to you both for getting me back into something that isn’t just beneficial for my fitness but also something I really love"

“I joined MBS yoga about a year and a half ago. I was recovering from several traumatic losses at the time, and needed to find connection with others and myself. The classes were so warm and welcoming, and the yoga and meditation helped me to relax and re-balance. Since then I have been to several MBS workshops, which have been amazing, and have had quite a few treatments at the Healing Haven with Vicki, which are heavenly. Vicki and Grant are a fantastic couple and have created a wonderful community. It's not just about the yoga, although the Tranquil classes in Tullibody with Terryanne are incredible. I feel part of a supportive, nurturing community that has helped me so much on my healing journey. Thanks guys”

“I started MB&S Yoga in august 2022 I sure if I would find my place but willing to give it a go. Never been to yoga before and was welcomed from the first session realising quickly that no one was checking to make you try harder , push more or do better. At one’s own pace, with calm and clear instruction and options for a lighter less stretch alternative based not on performance but on how you are feeling in that moment. So relaxing to be taught in an adult fashion without fear of failure or not fitting in. I’ve found each class rewarding , relaxing , inclusive and welcoming. I keep going back each week for my ‘me time’ and thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere. Dimmed lights, soft music and movement that is within reach / stretch depending on your ability. Highly recommend these classes."

Nicky Payne

"I have been going to Mind Body & Soul yoga for nearly 10 months and MY mind, body and soul are benefiting greatly. The yoga relaxes me, helps my gammy hip and helps me to cope with the day to day stresses we all face in life. Alison is just brilliant and the rest of the group are lovely. It really is my favourite hour of the week"

Pamela Coutts

“I was a bit nervous before my first class, I'm not very fit (And even less flexible!) but I needn't have worried. All the poses were broken down into stages so it was easy to feel a sense of accomplishment, even after the first class. It was very relaxing, the guided mediation at the end is a perfect way to finish.”

"I began practicing yoga with Vicki three years ago and I have found her classes invaluable for my physical and mental well-being. Over lockdown the zoom sessions have been the highlight of the week to catch up and spend an hour on myself. I 100% recommend Vicki to anyone starting out practicing yoga as everything is geared to all levels of experience."

Lorna Learmouth

"When I first started yoga with Vicki 2 years ago, I was a complete beginner and really was unsure that it would have an impact on my life. My goal when joining Vicki’s class was to find an outlet for stress from my 9-5 job, this has been achieved through Vicki’s inclusiveness. Not only have I found a way to manage my stress levels but I have also managed to touch my toes (something I have never in my life been able to do before because my leg muscles were so tight)"

Sandra Bendall

"Where do I start. I am a 53 year old woman with a decades old work back injury, Hashimotos and Fibromyalgia. My health was so bad I had to retire early from my career

My mobility was so awful and restricted and I was in constant pain. This all compounded to cause weight gain and the usual menopausal issues. I was miserable. I had lost all my confidence and after enduring a serious surgery and depression last year, I was at my lowest point. I felt like an old woman before my time and I hated it.

The last time I did yoga was over twenty years ago and I loved it then, but I knew my balance was terrible and any strength I had was gone. Thinking back to what I had been able to do back then made me terrified at the prospect of attempting this in front of people and embarrassing myself. I took a deep breath, had a strong word with myself and decided to give it a go. I thought if I can’t do it then at least I can say that I tried. So I signed up for a block of six classes. Then I turned the house upside down looking for my yoga mat, block and belt which I now think may have been chucked when we moved house. At my first class I was so nervous I could hardly speak to people but Vicki made me very welcome and gifted me a spare mat (thank you) so I could get started.

There was such a peaceful and welcoming vibe at the class. The low lighting, lovely aromas and gentle music give a very relaxed, tranquil and ‘Zen’ vibe. I was utterly amazed and shocked at how much I could do at the class. I was struggling when working on my knees or bending them but I persevered and when I found I could still do a decent warrior pose and downward dog. My body stretched the most it had in twenty years. It felt amazing. I found strength I didn’t think I had and I think I didn’t look too out of place. I was hooked!

Since starting the class I am able to walk further, have much less overall pain and I am sleeping better. The increase in my mobility is remarkable. The stairs no longer frighten me (well coming down is still a bit of an ordeal but I can walk up confidently). I can enjoy walks in the park with my dogs without worrying about how far I am from the house or car.

So if you think yoga is beyond you, think again. This class is full of real people trying to do something positive for their physical, emotional and spiritual well being. It’s not full of plastic ‘Gym Bunny’ types, only those who love themselves enough to try.

I am so pleased I loved myself enough to do this. Thank you for making me remember!"
